The current crisis has promoted the 51st edition of the Swiss event to offer its selected movies to online audiences.
The films are slated for screening according to three fixed schedules. A number of the movies will be available on April 17-24. A second group of the screenings is planned for April 25-May 2. And the third part is for after the festival.
According to the official website of the festival all the screenings are for free so everyone can watch them.
A number of Iranian documentaries are in competition at this edition of the Swiss event.
The list of Iranian attendees includes ‘A Horse Has More Blood Than a Human’ by Abolfazl Talouni, ‘The Leaves’ directed by Hamid Jafari, Amin Behrouzzadeh’s ‘Fish Eye’ and ‘The Marriage Project’ by Hessam Eslami and Atieh Attarzadeh.
Established in 1969, the Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival and the largest Swiss documentary event. The fest is open to worldwide entries.
Prior to the final decision to go online, the event was scheduled to be held in Nyon, Switzerland on April 24-May 02, 2020.
